Folkestone 2007 Player Ratings

Player Ratings (in batting order)

Neil Tubman 5/10 - Anchor like with the bat, gazelle-like in the field. Solid performance though perhaps disappointed not to build on career best v FCO in front of watching WAG.

T.Fletcher 8/10 - A triumphant return. Played out of his skin to produce his most fluent batting display as a Stroller and first 50 for the club. Seemed unshackled without burden of captaincy. Competent bowling at death (though wicketless) and exceptional catch. True all-round performance.

L.Feltcher 6/10 - Showed glimpses of former self with ball but frustrated by inconsistency. Added calmness to his consistency with the bat in a chancey unbeaten 27 answering questions about temperament. Deducted point for spin debacle and running his Dad out by kicking the ball on to the stumps 3 years ago.

J.Allen 6/10 - Was given genuine respect by batsmen in a fine, though wicketless spell. Showed great commitment to Strollers by finishing with his girlfriend in order to play Folkestone fixture and Cowden, but unsportsmanlike behaviour in standing ground when given out was inexcusable.

The 3 Ringers 3/10 - Good sports. Talked a great game and contributed with local knowledge of opposition. Failed to come to the party with the bat (2 golden ducks).

Graham Willis 8.5/10 (Sun star man) - A revelation. Excelled himself with the gloves on a notoriously unpredictable wicket. New kit seemed to bring out best of him. Hit first boundary of his life. Deducted point for not swimming in sea.

Andrew Carey 6/10 - Nice to see him back in Stroller's shirt. Good performance with ball and umpiring though failed to build on promising start with bat and some shocking fielding. Perhaps could play up his Aussiness to really strike fear into opposition. No sea swim.

R.Bristow (a generous) 7/10 - Rediscovered some accuracy and fire in his best bowling display for some time. No captain's innings when needed, some half hearted fielding and no sea swim, but responded well to honour of captaincy, successfully negotiating last man stand and managing troops well.
