Guy Winter
"Guido" as he is affectionately known, embodies the spirit and attitude of the Strollers and it´s motto "Why run when you can stroll ?".
A true gentleman both on and off the pitch, like so many of us, his enthusiasm and love of the game more than compensates for any weaknesses he may possess as a cricketer. Since the Strollers were formed, Guy has been a virtual ever-present in the team, faithfully supported by his wife Hannah who has admirably travelled the length and breadth of the country to watch some mostly bad cricket.
Guido is a useful "bits and pieces cricketer". His slow/not moving at all bowling has picked up vital wickets in the past, bucket-like hands have held on to some extraordinary catches and stubborn lower order batting has saved Strollers from defeat in the past. Like Roger Moore and his safari suit, few cricketers can wear whites with quite the same degree of casuality. Has come on leaps and bounds as a cricketer in the last few seasons, so much so that he can feel aggrieved not to have won "Wisden´s Most Improved Cricketer of the Year Award 2003".
Will be hoping to build on his 11 career runs to date in seasons to come.
