Jonathan Allen
Having missed the 2002 season while representing the Cyprus Strollers, Jonny Allen quickly made a characteristically large dent in the side with his trademark Size 12 boots. Not one of nature's natural athletes, he makes up for it with boundless enthusiasm and genuine delight in the game. Rivals Guy Winter in his ability to make his cricket kit look like it last fitted him when Border and Lamb were in the middle
Jonny Allen made an excellent assault on the prize of Player's Player 2004, having organised a superb weekend tour of Brussels, where he is now based. Not only did Strollers clean sweep the title, but Jonny took an awesone catch on the boundary and undermined several colleagues with the quality of his sledging. Would have had an even stronger chance of gaining the award if he had not lobbied quite so hard for it.
J Allen also deserves credit for having introduced several other natural Strollers to the merry band (see McGuirk, Paddy and Gaz, Big)
